2013 World Environment Day Symposium
Under the patronage of HE Dr. Mosleh Al-Otaibi CEO of the Royal Commission for Jubail, the Royal Commission for Jubail is pleased to organize the WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY SYMPOSIUM on Wednesday 5 June 2013 in the Jubail Industrial City, Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This one-day Symposium's theme is "Think. Eat. Save", which is a United Nations anti-food waste and food loss campaign that encourages everybody to reduce food wastes, and to think before eating and help saving the environment.
This Symposium also targets researchers, environmental professionals, national and international organizations, food agencies and policy-makers who are interested in working towards a better, more effective Environmental Management, Protection and Control particularly for the Jubail Industrial City being the host of the highest concentrated Industrial Community in the Kingdom as well as in the Middle East Region. The Symposium will comprise of a program of presentations which will be addressing key topics, such as:
- Food Management and Control.
- Food Waste Recycling and Reprocessing.
- Other Environmental Aspects of Food.
Environmental Excellence Award
As an acknowledgement from the Royal Commission for the industrial companies' exerted efforts in the field of environment preservation and being keen to spread the competitive spirit among the industrial companies in their pursuit of implementing future plans for the clean environment, the Royal Commission's Best Environmental Performance Award was approved since the year 2006. The award was initially limited to basic industries and then the secondary industries were involved in the year 2007, with the hope that this may pour in the interest of the environment significantly. In addition, Environmental Awareness Committee awards for the winners of the Annual Environmental Competition for school students and the best sponsoring company for annual school environmental awareness activities will be distributed during this event.
